Gifted Field Trip
Smiley Elementary gifted students in grades 1-3 attended a field trip at the Museum of Science and History (MOSH)in Jacksonville with their teacher Mr. Caphton. The trip began with a picnic lunch and some time to explore the park where there was a fountain and great scenery. The MOSH had two shows for the students to enjoy. The first was on inventions and discoveries where students handled vintage items and attempted to figure out what they were. The second show was about matter and students actively partipated with lots of enthusiasm. There was also time for the students to explore the museum and look at the exhibits, most that allowed for hands-on learning.Book Fair
The media center will be hosting a book fair for the students November 17-21. More information will be sent home with students on books available and prices.Picnic for Parents
Kindergarten will be hosting their annual Picnic for Parents on Friday,November 21. Students and parents will be able to enjoy some quality time in their child's class before eating lunch together. The times for each class to have lunch will be sent home with students. The cost of an adult lunch is $2.35.Smiley Elementary School
